or Happy New Year Babies
Published on January 1, 2007 By just john In Home & Family
Well... They are here and healthy. Just over 12 hours into their life they all appear to be doing great.

Tabitha Brooke came first at 3lbs 10ozs

Parrish John came next at 3lbs 7ozs

Chloe Rene was last and the littlest of all at 3lbs 2ozs

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary last night and the birth of our triplets early this morning. It was all so fast. The babies came a minute apart and mom got all sutured up. Minutes later she was in recovery and right after that the news cameras were coming in one after the other. (I'll link the video when/if they post it) We're kind of a big deal I guess.

For me, it is all still so very surreal. I go in and visit them but it is hard to grasp that in a month or so I will be bringing these little bundles home to start our new life together.

I like to say a big thanks to all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers for so long. It will continue to be my pleasure to share these little wonders with you.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for all the comments. I just wanted to pop in and give an update.

All the babies are doing great. They were breathing room air without the little nasal canellas the day they were born. Parrish is the only one who has had any difficulty with this and his has been very minor. Little boys usually have more issues with breathing than girls at this point. He has managed to stay on room air so it can't be all that bad.

They got their feeding tubes yesterday and they began feeding through them last night. Each of them has lost a couple of ounces but that is to be expected. They could loose as much as 10% over the next couple of days. They all seem to have some suckling response to the pacifiers. This response doesn't develop until week 34. It is a strong sign that in a couple of weeks they should be able to feed on their own.

There are lots of little milestones for them to cross at this point but they are doing fantastic.

I got to hold the two girls yesterday. They are both just so amazing in my arms. I'm afraid to take my arm bands off because I know I will wake up and have to pinch myself to remind me that this is real.

The babies are still progressing along. They were switched to formula and are getting a little of mom's milk now. Mom was released from he hospital this afternoon and it was nice to come home with her here. So nice that I fell right asleep for a quick nap. In a little bit we can go and see the babies again and spend some time with them.

Oh! I got to change the first of many diapers today. I know I will regret the excitement soon enough.

We are getting to do more and more with them each day. It is great to be able to take care of them and attend to some of their needs. The will get their lines taken out in a week and we should get to hold them every time we go in.

These little ones just don't have any idea that they are premature and they refuse to act like it.

As promised here is a link to some video.
