But I won't stay away from JU
Published on March 31, 2006 By just john In Blogging
Yes folks (the two who read me - I may be presuming too much by saying two people read me) I am moving my blog. I have been piddling around for a month or so getting this set up but I have finally done it. If you feel so inclined you can check me out at Link.

I won't stay away from JU (who could?). I'll just do my blogging over there. I like the format and I really want to do a bit of photo blogging and this format seems to be easier for me to do it the way I want to.

No more points... no more bush bashers (I just won't have them)... no more a lot of the good and bad things JU has to offer. It has been fun to get my blogging start here but it is time for me to move on.

and this is no april fools joke

I'll still stick around for the comments. I love this place. I just wanted to take on a more technically challenging project. JU does all the cool stuff for you.

I hope you don't take this wrong, but I'd just make a couple of points.

First, you don't write all that often. YOu've done 9 blogs total so far this year. There's nothing wrong with that, but you can't expect to get the traffic that people who write a lot more gets. People check in on your blog as often as you update it. Someone who writes 10 antagonistic articles a day is always going to get more response than an honest blogger like you.

Second, you do get traffic. All of your recent blogs have comments 4+. THere's a lot of people around here that get a lot less comments than you. Look at your "coke machine" blog. Do you think the average person around here who blogs on something like that gets that many comments?

Lastly, do you really think with JUs traffic as it is, you'll have more readers on your own site? To me, that's like someone with a store in a mall complaining about not getting enough attention and moving it into the sticks.

Your articles will be missed, whether you believe it or not. At least we'll still have you around.

Hey!  I read you...and I love to read your comments on other blogs too.

You are one of my favorite bloggers and I hate to see ya go.

Good luck though....

Glad you'll still be around JU commenting. I'm a one blogsite gal and, of course, my hubby's blog site is it.

Best wishes.

Not at all Baker, your comments are all on point. I am what could best be described as a lazy blogger. I work with computers all day long and I really hate to even touch them after I walk in the door at my house.

I do appreciate your comments. JU was always going to be my proving ground to see if I would even stick with this. I've just found that I like to read and comment more than I like to write. Sometimes, when I am compelled to write, I get distracted here. (Damn ADD!)

I am not really looking for traffic; it's nice to be read though. I hope you'll still stop by every now and again to check out what's up in my world. I will be doing the same here at JU. I am looking to expand my web design skills. I am currently using a quick set-up blog while I work on my own site. I am afraid that if I don't make the move I will never make good progress on my own site.

You are certainly at the top of my list as well. I'll be back to read you.

I don't comment much on your site, but I read almost everything. I really like reading you a lot.

I feel you. I have only written a few bloggs since I started. I don't get much attention except in the Personal Computing section. My biggest problem is that I don't have internet at home, I write everything I wrtite here at work, well some of my bloggs were at home and tramsfered here via floppy disk. I don't have a lot of time to write at work so I only write once in a while, and when I write at home I tend to have to much time between the finished article and posting it that I tend to either change it, forget it or just not post it at all after too much thinking about the content.

I look foward to posting more often, I like to talk a lot, as you can see, I just don't have the time at work and I have to much time at home (strange isn't it?).

Good luck, sorry I didn't read or post on your articles too often. Maybe I did and just don't remember ATM.
