and make veiled racial slurs

Re-elected Republican Bobby Jindal has recently announced that he will possibly make a run for Governor in the state of Louisiana. He has made several public comments prior to his announcement that he is seeking funds that he was praying about whether or not he would run for Governor again.

Out of all of the Louisiana politicians yammering after the hurricanes, I believe that he alone was the one voice of reason and sanity. I think you would be hard pressed to find a more worthy opponent for Governor Blanco in next years election.

He has always been open about his faith in God. Apparently that sets him up for mocking.

Piyush (Bobby) Jindal has finally admitted to a partial divine revelation that he wants to be governor. This revelation has told him to seek out his most valued supporters, ask of them large amounts of money while he continues to pray for an answer to his most burning question – Should I be Governor? – More at link

Two things really bug me about that statement. First of all, the entire population knows him as Bobby Jindal. Why would you use his Indian name with his well known name in parenthesis? I just can't think of any better reason than to point out the already obvious, that he is of Indian origin and who really wants a non Caucasian to be Governor. (read: sarcasm - I could care less about his ethnic origin as long as he is effective at his job)

Secondly, why call it a divine revelation? Many people pray about many things. If I were to run for Governor, I have no doubt that at some point I would be asking God for guidance.

I feel like the Democrats really need to be looking towards the sitting Governor and insisting that she take action. So far her beloved Road Home Program has paid out to exactly 28 families. They have been sitting on $10 billion for almost eight months now and have paid 28 families. They recently sent out 'potential award' letters to 10,000 families. The numbers were admittedly bogus. Some people eligible for $100,000 were sent letters saying that they would receive $40,000 and when they called to see what the deal was, they were told that those numbers were not real.

It's fine for the Democrats to be upset that the one person who has the best chance to defeat Blanco in next years election has began to test the waters and ask God for guidance but that's no reason to attack him on his faith or with a veiled reference to his ethnicity. After all, most of the early inhabitants of Louisiana were exiled French Canadians.

Yea, but those French Canadian are heathens!

(Dont let my family read this or I am out of their wills.)
