It all started way before this and some of you may know all of the history and some may not. There is ten years worth of wanting that brought us to this point. I guess ten years is long enough because at ten years and one day our dream came true. Three times!

                               Tabitha                                                                   Parrish                                                                     Chloe

I could have never guessed how this year would be. I expected long nights and tough days. I haven't been surprised yet. Tabby, PJ and my little Tinker Belle, you were so tiny and amazing. Just over three pounds and full of life. You spent six weeks in the NICU. You had nurses around the clock. Beepers and buzzers to let everyone around know when there was something wrong. Babies crying all around you, not a peep out of you guys though. Soon you learned to take your bottle and you were moved to the growers section of the NICU. It wouldn't be long now until you were ready to come home.

Tabby you came home first but your brother and sister weren't far behind. The first night you came home we were so happy and so were you. Well, until we decided to move you from the portable crib to the crib in our bedroom. All three of you decided that now you were going to start crying. Crying is almost an understatement. Indy (your dog at the time) came in and joined right in with the wailing. Your mom and I sat down on the bed and laughed. There wasn't much else we could do. Soon you settled down, after we moved you back into the living room. You spent the first six weeks of your life surrounded by those buzzers and beepers that were so important and nurses that were busy taking care of you. You weren't ready to be in a new place with no noises.

Those first few months were tough. You ate every three hours! It took an hour and a half to feed all of you. It seemed like all we did was feed you. Just as soon as we got done, it was time to start all over again. Even Indy was worn out.

It wasn't long before you were out of your Boppies  and on the floor playing with loads of toys.  There was never a shortage of toys.

Great grandmas were everywhere...

Your little lives were so busy. Before we knew it the Easter bunny was here. You were all so happy with what he brought you, especially the Peeps. Chloe I promise you were happy. You just didn't know it yet.

I knew sooner or later it had to happen. You smiled for the first time. You waited until the room was full of family. Aunt Laura had you and you did it. You finally smiled and the room exploded. What a smile!

Tabitha you were the first one interested in what everybody else was putting in their mouths. You were happy to share. You didn't have any teeth but you were ready for something other formula.

PJ you are all boy and from the beginning you always have been. You are a rough and tumble kind of guy. You love your mommy and she loves you right back. I think it's cute. You like to play with me. The rougher the better. You like to be tossed in the air and tackled on the floor. You can sleep just about anywhere.

Your life is always interesting.

                                                                                                                         Crawfish boils...

                 Days at the park...

You guys love it all!

You sure know how to pose for the camera.

Your first vacation was to the beach. Sunny Florida welcomed the us with arms wide open.

We didn't know it was bike week until we pulled into town

You played in the sand, swam and lounged by the pool.

You ate plenty of sand and had as much fun as you could.

You grow and change so fast. It seems the only record we have of what you were last week is kept in pictures.

I have to mention Ian. Your cousin has been around your whole lives. There is no doubt that he loves you. You all light up when he walks in the room.  He spends his summers with you. Someday soon he will be older and have other interests but I doubt you will ever be far from his heart.

Soon enough Christmas was here. You all woke up at 3:45am. This is really out of character for you. You sleep until six or seven every morning. I think you knew something was up. You all played for a few hours and passed out right where you were.

You were Christened on December 30th. It was almost like you knew how special that day was. You were all beautiful and handsome. You were Baptized and then presented to the church. After the spotlight was off of you, you each fell fast asleep.

Later that day we celebrated your birthday. So many people came to see you and celebrate with you. Cake and presents were on the menu. You ate plenty of cake and some wrapping paper too.

Each of you knew what to do with your cake and like everything else you do, you ate it in your own way

This last year has been hectic and fun. Your mom and I didn't know it, but we wanted you all along. You make our lives complete.

I'll bet your house is so busy and fun. I can't imagine 3 Isabellas. Crazy!

This is a really sweet tribute to your beautiful babies.

Thank you!

This is a really sweet tribute to your beautiful babies.

Tex, I have you to thank for the motivation to do this. I have been meaning for months to sit down and write about what life is like. It is busy and fun. It's also soooooo fast. Before the kids, life must have been in slow motion. Now, sombody hit the fast forward button.

Thanks for the kick in the pants to get after this.

I hope you save this blog for them to see when they get older

It's also on their website. Mom is going to print it out for them.

Well it wouldn't exactly be three Ashley’s. You are going to have one like her and one like the neighbor's baby and one like your friend's baby. Each one of them is different. They each require things to be their own way. I keep writing it but I don't think I can convey the right message. (one more try) It's more like having one really needy kid that can bombard you from every direction.

They are just so different. Our little boy is a mama's boy (or just about anyone with boobs). Chloe is a daddy's girl. Tabitha is the good baby. The only problem with Tabby is that when something is bad it's really, really bad.

Case in point: This morning I gave the babies a 4oz bottle. We are trying to shift their breakfast away from the bottle and to solid foods. Their mom gets up shortly after I leave for work and will feed them. Tabitha was perfectly content to sit by herself and have her tiny bottle. Chloe and Parrish sat side by side ripping each others bottle away. They fought over one empty bottle for a few minutes while a half full bottle sat on the floor right in front of them. Tabitha knew that if she was in the mix that she would have to do it their way.

The order is: Tabitha can take anything from PJ but not Chloe. Tabitha will hug her sister and play with her. They share. PJ doesn't like for Chloe to take things from him and doesn't play with her as much as he plays with Tabitha. Chloe can be fickle at any point and decide nothing is right with the world.

(no wonder you don't blog as often, haha.)

I may start to do more. I installed LiveWriter and it freakin' rocks. I was able to publish the same entry to both JU and the babies website with only tiny modifications.
