Look out I feel slightly productive
I have a pretty laid back IT job, an understanding boss and I feel like I earn the luxuries I take. My TV stays on all day. My desk is cluttered with more toys than it is paperwork. Maybe PlayStation Wednesday and DVD Friday are a bit extreme, but hey, the work gets done.
It always seems though that I follow about the same routine. Almost every morning I am slow to get started unless there is a problem. (which is rare) This is usually followed by a white hot burst of productivity. I can accomplish so many things at once when I put my mind to it. I usually take a small slack period followed by another very short burst of productivity. This is always followed by a long slack period and lunch. After lunch the process usually starts over. I don't know why I work this way but it's the only way I can seem to accomplish anything.
If I have a major project on the books that requires days or weeks to complete, I have been known to take a proportionate slack period. I always tend to feel lazy after a while and the guilt sets in and I hit another stride of productivity.
I just don't get me. If I was my own employee I would get rid of me, mostly because I would eventually figure out that I could get more work out of me than I was currently getting.
Today I solved a lot of problems ... tomorrow is play day!! WoooHooo!!
