I have watched my nephew play baseball for a few years now from the sidelines. This year I was asked to help coach the team and it has made me understand a few things. Parents get really serious about their kids sporting events. Some keep it to themselves others are vocal and find themselves in the car for the game. I never understood how they could get so irate. After all, it's only a game. My nephew plays in the most popular league in our area. They play more games than any other league...
I just don't understand what is going on with the current trend of kids going out of the country unsupervised as a graduation thing. When I was in high school, not all that long ago we went on senior trips ranging from a hundred miles or so to at most a Florida or bust trip. Did we do stupid things? Hell yes! We acted crazy, tried to get away with illegal things, and were generally as stupid and irresponsible as we could be. I can't imagine what might have happened if we had gone out of the c...

(Seeing really is believing) My wife said, "I see two." The doctor said "I see four!" We are still very early in the pregnancy but right now ...
I know this is a really sore subject lately around here but I feel I have a unique viewpoint to add. AND since I am still confined this is my only forum for comment. Excuse me while I lay out my qualifications: I am a functioning adult who suffers from ADD and Dyslexia. I have been plagued by these demons all of my life. By the time I reached third grade my teachers were ready to place me in the 'special ed' classes. My parents refused. Somehow they really believed that there was much m...
I have commented on other threads before stating that I 'fostered' children. That statement isn't totally true. I took in my brother-in-law's four children. I have been told many times that I should write this all down and I am finally motivated to do so. My wife and I were trying to help her brother out of some financial difficulties. He and his wife have four children. They aren't the brightest of folks or the kindest. They were into almost every family member they had for some amou...
