I just read an article in Information Week concerning the use of Cell phones while airborne. It seems that the FAA is going to examine the current ban on such activity. Give me a break! Already if I choose to go see a movie at a theater for around $30, I have to listen to the barrage of teenie cell phones going off until the movie starts. I might be ok with this if it stopped when the movie started. No! Inevitably someone will feel compelled to answer that vibrating phone (assuming the ha...

I am glad that I live in a country where I can freely express my opinions. I am no history buff, I am not buried in all of the political jargon that passes through popular news and I certainly don't keep up with all the articles posed on the net. Recently, "religious songs" were removed from a public school because they didn't want to offend anyone. There is always some talk of separation of church and State going on. Most of it is associated with schools. We can't say God in the pled...

My wife and I will be together eight years at the end of this month. We used to be Christmas freaks. I always loved the holidays before then. Something changed last year and while the source is gone the problem still remains. My wife and I decided to help her brother and sister-in-law. They have four kids and were experiencing marital/financial problems. We took the kids in March of last year and had them through the end of the year. As Christmas rolled around last year, my wife and I go...

I've never really had a great relationship with my dad. It hasn't been bad but just not great. When I was younger I was always in trouble of some sorts related to school. I was a horrible student. My dad traveled a lot so it always seemd when he was home I was avoiding him to fly under the radar. I am a private person (this blog is my attempt to make myself be more open). I really can't blame our relationship on him. I would say it's mostly my fault. I didn't know how to relate to him becaus...

I have a pretty laid back IT job, an understanding boss and I feel like I earn the luxuries I take. My TV stays on all day. My desk is cluttered with more toys than it is paperwork. Maybe PlayStation Wednesday and DVD Friday are a bit extreme, but hey, the work gets done. It always seems though that I follow about the same routine. Almost every morning I am slow to get started unless there is a problem. (which is rare) This is usually followed by a white hot burst of productivity. I can a...

Maybe scare was to stong, but I am certainly concerned. We are right upon election day and a tape from the leader of Al-Quieda surfaces. Osama could be giving out his next set of instructions. How is an outsider supposed to know the difference? What do you think?

Why is it that you just can't find a good impartial journalist? I studied broadcast journalism in college. Maybe that is why I just don't get it. Is making money so much more important than telling the truth without distortion? Kerry would have us believe that W hasn't done anything good for America. The liberal journalist out there only help him spread his message. It wasn't too long ago that old W brought a country together not from a division of politics, but from a tear in the ver...

Well... Where to start? I am and have always been a geek. I was a geek when being a geek wasn't cool at all. I took my first PC course when I was six (thanks Mom and Dad). I was destined to be a geek I suppose. Like so many people I am ADD or ADHD. I don't subscribe to the whole medical treatment for it though. I figure if I haven't learned to live with it after 31 years ... medicine won't make a difference. I am the systems administrator for an oil and gas company engineering and ...
