I am a net admin for a small company. We have roughly 100 employees at 4 sites. We really do our best to provide as much protection for our business without spending any more money than necessary. We outsource our mail filtering so that we do not need to hire an additional person to manage it and so on. In our main office our physical security is great. We have card access doors and you can't get on the floor without passing 3 or 4 cameras even if you bypass the receptionist and come in th...

I kinda like it here at JU. I am not willing to learn HTML so the ability to blog and comment without having to do all of that is a good fit for me. I also like the fact that here one can be exposed to a wide varitey of topics and views. This sort of interaction is what keeps me coming back. Even if the site wasn't free I would still feel that way. You bother me because you interrupt the flow. How am I supposed to find the good content while sifting through your crap. You know it is crap w...

He he is again folks. He is leading a campain to bring people back to New Orleans. Having viewed the Katrina chaos, Jackson says he was incensed that the Bush administration was awarding no-bid contracts to its cronies while New Orleans residents were frozen out. His response was not on the scale expected of world leaders, He decided to bus evacuees back home from other cities across the country and find them jobs and housing. He announced that he was bringing 200 citizens back where ...

To my knowledge, Louisiana is the only state that pays for our football team. You got it; we PAY for a team as wonderful as the Saints to play in our fair state. Prior to the hurricanes Tom Benson was trying to renegotiate his contract to get a new stadium. He has the freaking Super Dome and he wanted Louisiana's citizens to pay for a new stadium. He clearly has his own agendas. "I will not return to Baton Rouge for any reason, including any games scheduled for the end of this season o...

Friends, I am a resident of Louisiana. Our state is in the one of the worst financial turmoils this country has ever seen. We have entire parishes (counties for the rest of you) that have no tax base left after the devastating storms. We need the federal money but don't give it to us. Our government will only throw it away. How? How about a cool million for a horse arena or a half million for a new lake? (I know we don't need that. I can't drive in any direction for a half an hour and not...

After hearing all of the trials the folks over at SD had to go through, I thought I would share my own horror story. *WARNING* If you are a sys admin, net admin or anything related these pictures may seem a bit graphic. It was a calm day in my world. I was just settling in for an afternoon of C&C. Our building has some sort of whisper effect. If you say it at one end of the hall you are bound to be heard at the other. So when I heard the sound of water, I just assumed it was the kitc...

Thank you to whoever has released me from my prison. (Karma I suspect it was you) Thank you ... Thank you ... Thank you Now that my gushing is complete, thank you for presenting me with a new problem; on which blog shall I comment first? I have a problem that needs a solution and I call on those of you at Joe User with nothing but time on your hands and a complete and utter drive to drag me out of the gutter to come back with a little style. In my confinement I was fixed, neutered,...

I sit here still confined to my Blog. I can't defend a position or thought without creating a new article. When two people with a conflict are both confined to their respective blogs, Bakerstreet politely referenced two monkeys in separate cages flinging poo. That is true of most flame wars. My first reaction, after letting things go for a few days, was disgust when I read how the other monkey flung his poo. I must defend my position, my feelings, nay myself. The urge is so strong. But...

Ugh. What a tard. You can see how totally interested I am in you. I just happened to catch your article from Friday. I am confined and I am here not because I lied or plagiarized but because I manipulated the points system. (Big Time!) I got my hand slapped even after asking for amnesty. Unlike you, I never lied about what I did. I gave all of the right people the right information. However, my abuse of the system was far too great for the admin's ideal of a 'test'. I guess 15k+ was t...

So in my time here I have not done everything just right. I have made some people who don't think I suck. Friend is a word that is thrown around like love. When I call you friend I mean it. (Well if I am not lying this time). I am not even going to get into all of the really dumb things I have done. Since I was composing my 60th article I thought I would celebrate by ramming my head in to the wall several hundred times. I think now I have successfully beaten all of my wicked side out. (I h...

I know this is a really sore subject lately around here but I feel I have a unique viewpoint to add. AND since I am still confined this is my only forum for comment. Excuse me while I lay out my qualifications: I am a functioning adult who suffers from ADD and Dyslexia. I have been plagued by these demons all of my life. By the time I reached third grade my teachers were ready to place me in the 'special ed' classes. My parents refused. Somehow they really believed that there was much m...

Just a handful of the folks at JU know I am from Lake Charles, LA but live in Shreveport now. Almost my entire family and my wife's family currently reside there, err well uh, well they reside scattered out in every cubby hole in my house and every other place we could find to put them. I have a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. I have 2 - 80+ year olds, 2 - 40 somethings, 4 - 20 somethings and my wife and I. We also have 3 - poodles, a Wiener dog, a Chihuahua, a very large Boxer, and a Catahou...

I really swear this time I am going to change my actions. I am not going to do all of those stupid things I did before, such as plead for your sympathy by telling you all of my health woes. But while I have your attention ... let me tell you about this boil on my butt. I am somebody at face value. I rarely give people cause to doubt me, even when I am guilty as sin. I can say all that I want about who I am and what I stand for. Sadly, they are just words. Oh yeah, please respect me beca...

What we are about to see unfold is the largest corrupt city in America. There are reasons that Louisiana officials didn't want the Feds involved in the rescue of New Orleans. They were afraid that someone just might start poking around in their business Link Eddie Compass has resigned as the New Orleans Police chief, the Associated Press Reports. On the heels of N.O. police chief Eddie Compass' resignation, allegations are emerging. Fox News' Tony Snow has said that of the 1700 p...
